Shanna is a young British Muslim woman who just wants to follow her dreams and represent her country at the Miss Universe finals. Never the less she has evoked thought provoking discussions across the world about social and cultural acceptance and integration.
Sandstorm has created stunning swimwear for the Swimwear round. We have taken into account the cultural diversity of the participating contestants, whilst following the guidelines set by Miss Universe and each contestant has been given the choice of a beautiful bikini or an elegant one-piece (both of which can be worn with simple black sarong).
We met Shanna and the film crew following her journey to the finals when she came for her swimwear fitting recently.
It is sad that Shanna has experienced some negative response from a minority of people, but thankfully she has gained lots of postive support from people across the globe who believe she has the right to reach for her personal goals.
We hope people remember that Shanna is just a young woman who is hoping to achieve her dream of representing her country at the grand finals in Brazil later this year - just like the other 60 finalists in the Miss Universe GB finals.
Our banana moon denim look bikini is fun and flirty. The low rise bottoms are fab and they give great coverage. They are also reversable (floral print)! They are so cute and even have a little pocket on the bottom - just like your favourite pair of jeans! The halter top has fixed cups with light padding for shape and ties at both the neck and on the back. The detail stitching is in burnt orange which really pops out from the blue background.
